Aug. 25, 2010: Within a few days, we will be bringing Carrie's puppies into the kitchen. They will stay in the kitchen until they are ready to go to their new families. Of course there will be play time outside and in the family room and other areas of the house. But their main place of residence will be in our kitchen so that they can experience all the sights , sounds and occurences of every day life. We will post photos soon. We have taken many but the pups move around so much that we are not satisfied with the quality of the pictures.

It won't be long until the kids go back to school. I cannot believe how quickly the summer has gone by. I know you all hate when I say it , but "Only 4 months till Christmas ! " Yayyyyyyyy!

Aug. 19, 2010: Carrie's pups are two weeks old now. They are crawling around and have their eyes opened. They are starting to develop their personalities. We have three males for sale, two sables and one tri.

Aug. 10, 2010: Jesse and Shiro are having a great time running and playing outside. Jesse seems to come back daily with little green burrs all over him. Thanks goodness they are the soft green burrs which are not too difficult to remove. They are both getting quite big and resemble their grampa Sidney an awful lot!

Aug. 5, 2010: Carrie had her puppies this morning. Mom and kids are doing well. Photos will be posted when they are a abit older.

July 25, 2010: Just a reminder that the Grey Bruce Kennel and Obedience Club will be holding their dog show the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, following the Civic Holiday in August. It is being held in Owen Sound and promises to be fun for all. See you there !

July 24, 2010: We would like to congratulate Steve and Lance on their fantastic achievements in Obedience. Lance recently earned two " High in Class" scores, at trials held in Woodstock, Ontario. Then Lance and Steve earned the prestigious " High in Trial " Rosette for earning ( obviously) the highest score at a trial in Hamilton, Ontario. Thanks for the photo and the update Steve. We will be awaiting more accomplishments from you two !

July 23, 2010: The weather man is calling for thunderstorms for a good part of the upcoming weekend. I usually love to sit and watch the lightning and listen to the thunder. However, for the past few years, Sneaker has developed a phobia of thunderstorms. Not sure why, because she used to enjoy watching them, as much as I did. Now I just try to block out the lightning with drapes or blinds and drown out some of the thunder by raising the volume on the radio.

One of the problems is that Sneaker can sense the storm long before it ever gets here.She usually starts to pace around and follows me more than usual ( if that is at all possible!). I feel so badly for Sneaker and other dogs who are frightened of the storms. There seems to be nothing we can do to assuage their fears, other than just being here for them. I wonder how Gabe is doing. He has got to have the worst storm phobia I have ever seen. And yet he has the most gentle loving disposition. Hello to Julie, Luke , Gabe and Star !

July 22, 2010: Pepper will soon be flying eastward to join her new family.We are going to miss her a lot. She is such a clown. Pepper loves to fetch and sleep on the bed. She is however, a bit of a kleptomaniac. Oh well, I guess they can't all be perfect !

July 21, 2010: Shiro and Jesse, our two white merle male pups are growing like bad weeds. They were both certified normal eyed and are taking after their mommy Sneaker , in all of their antics. They enjoy trying to fetch items but Sneaker usually beats them to it ! And , like mommy, they love to sleep on their back with their paws straight up in the air. Some habits just seemed to be ingrained genetically.

July 20, 2010: Here's hoping that the Doggie Diary is back and running on a regular basis ! We have been having a lot of problems with editing and publishing the website. I think a lot of it may be due to our slow internet speed out here. Thanks to our web designer Gary Levine for all of his help. Let's see if it works now !
