Hi Patti! Hi Artie!
Gilligan and I attended the Middlesex Agility Trial this past weekend. We received “Q”s in Snooker, Team Relay and in Steeplechase. Gilligan was on the ball this weekend. He was attentive, focused and driven. Rick attended on the Sunday and watched two of the events. As a result of Gilligan’s efforts we achieved our Starter Game Title. Now all we have to do is qualify in three Standard events to achieve our Starter Standard Title. Then onwards and upwards to Advanced events. We are already at the advanced level for Gamblers and Jumpers. I can foresee us accomplishing our starters by the end of this year.
We received a lovely surprise on Saturday. I met Stacey and Heather. Heather walked up to me and asked if that was Gilligan. Then she explained who she was. It was great to meet Stacey and Heather. They were as enthusiastic about Codybear Collies as I am. They met Gilligan and were commenting about how much like his mother he looks. They then returned on the Sunday and brought Abby. That was a real treat. Rick was there and got to meet all three of them. She is beautiful! I was surprised by the size difference between her and Gilligan. Heather brought Abby over to meet Gilligan. Gilligan being the more mature collie didn’t give Abby much attention. Stacey gave me her business card. Your Codybear family keeps growing.
I’m going to be looking on the AAC website to see if there are any trials in August that Gilligan and I could go to. Apparently if you look under his AAC# you will see his standings. (I’m not sure when the MAC trial results will be provided to the AAC.)
I thought I would keep you informed. You had mentioned something about Sneaker getting points for her offspring. Perhaps Gilligan will be able to contribute to Sneaker’s standing.
As an aside – Rick is getting closer to accepting the idea of a second dog. He has already thought up two names – Gomer or Popeye! Popeye if we stick with the sailor theme. I like the name Gazoo! As in the Great Gazoo from the Flinestones. (I’m going with a “G” theme.) It would have to be a Sneaker puppy. I truly believe that that is where Gilligan gets his agility talent from.

Hi Patti,
Chip is doing wonderful. He is quite the character. He has to come upstairs every morning when I am drying my hair and sit and wait for me to fluff him so he is all handsome to start his day.
He goes to doggie daycare once a week and plays with about 20 other dogs, He is fully trained and is starting obedience. I am taking him through all the levels then on to trick and possibly acting lessons for the dog. He is such a good dog. I am so happy with him. Everyone at doggie daycare loves him.
We had a scare with a neighbors dog that attacked him about a month after he came home. I rescued him and beat the other dog off so I think he believes I am his mother now. LOL he is so funny. He was not hurt. I made sure. After that I made the decision to move as I have been trying to and I bought a house with a backyard we move in 2 weeks. It will be great, alot more room and a yard to play in. We are all very happy.
Chip won't eat his breakfast in the morning until all the kids are up and moving. He waits for all of them. And then he comes and sits by me while I make their lunches, almost like he is making sure they have enough LOL really he is waiting for a treat. LOL. He watches TV at night with me and we have a snuggle time....it was cute when he was small but now he is so big it is getting hard to snuggle with him. I will forward pictures soon.
Hope all is well with all of you and Dallis says Hi to Cody. Take care.
Bye for now.

Hi Patti--not sure if my attempt to post this on your guest book worked, so here it is again just in case!
Just wanted to let you know that Shep is doing great! He's well adjusted to his leash, and after a few initial accidents while he was figuring out the layout of his new home, he's been going where he's supposed to go. He was quite rambunctious at his first puppy class, playing with the other guys, but at home he's pretty relaxed except when he tries to herd us like the sheep he'd like us to be. Thank you again for coming to meet us partway and for this lovely lovely dog. We're all very happy!!
thanks,

Thank you to all of you (collies included) for welcoming Taya and Noni into your home, not to mention into your bed!! We didn't worry about our girls for a second while they stayed with you and enjoyed our time on the ski hills all that much more. You are truly a one of a kind family. We were really happy to see that Taya took to you so well. She and Noni are probably the most compatible (and loving) dogs we've ever owned.
All the best with your huge litter of puppies! They are adorable...
Take care and keep in touch
Sincerely Jacquie, Phil, Luke and Sam ( : |

Hi Patti, Artie and Cody.
Toby and Gracie are back in the routine again. I made sure I got them back into it as soon as possible. They were very quiet for a few days after they left you, and very tired........LOL I guess they didn't get much sleep.
Gracie seems to be off with her food though. She won't eat what I give her. I know she likes the ground up stuff better but I prefer her to eat the whole stuff, so I am waiting her out. LOL. I wonder how long we will last? LOL
Very wet here today. I bet you must be washing lots of towels again. I know I am. Ohh well so far it's just water and not mud yet. Yikes!!!
Thanks again for taking Toby and Gracie. They send their love..........xoxoxox |

Hi Patti!
Yes of course you can post the photo of us. I love it Pandrea LOL., very cute. I forgot you guys would not have high speed. Sorry I hope I did not risk crashing your computer. Anyway all is well. I cannot wait for nice weather. These temperature fluctuations drive me nuts. How is Cody doing? Tell her I said hello. I guess you are all very excited about the new arrivals. I can hardly wait to see them. I love to keep updated by looking at your website.
Panda is doing well. It will be fun to come up and visit this summer. Wait until you see her knew tricks. She is a riot. She does a very dramatic play dead (in slow motion!). She can shake right, then left, sit up, roll over, back up, bow and we are working on weaving between my legs. If she gets confused and wants a treat, she tries all of the above and it is quite funny in fast motion. We have a riot together and often end up hysterics while training. My trainer uses her as a demo dog all the time because she is so good. She has turned out to be quite smart and loves tricks and high energy things. We may never show, or simply do a correction match near here in June again, but it doesn't matter, we have a good time together. She is a fabulous companion and I am grateful I own her. we may put our weaving and backing up and circling to music, just for fun.
Anyway take care and keep warm. It was nice to hear from you. Panda says hello, woof, woof!!!

Hi to all the collie lovers. I just want to say that I implicitly trust Patti to provide us with the best possible family addition. I had been looking for sometime and now is the time. I contacted Patti just over a year ago for a dog or two and things ended up not working, however I believe fate is playing a hand in our new puppy arriving in Late February. I am so excited and not at all nervous about the puppy being beyond any of my expectations. Thank you Patti and you are making 5 children very happy (when I tell them) Keep up the excellent work.

Hi Guys!
Hope things are well with you, the family and of course your pack!
IRIS IS A YEAR AND SIX MONTHS! She has grown to a beautiful teenager, there isn’t a young person within a 10 block radius that hasn’t played with her.
Halloween was interesting because every time the door bell rang Iris was the first in to great the goblins. The first words I heard were “IRIS!” , “Trick or Treat!”

Hi Patti, Artie, and Cody,
I hope everything is going well at Codybear...switching into Christmas gear yet? I wanted to update you on Willa, I sent an email in September with some pictures but never heard back so I thought maybe you never received it. Willa is doing wonderful, she is a better dog than I possibly imagined. Not only is she healthy and of course drop dead gorgeous, but she is such a happy dog who is always smiling and wagging her tail. As I said from the first few weeks I had her, she is the most gentle dog. We are still visiting the dog park a few times per week, and its amazing the progress she has made! I don't know if you remember I told you she was a bit shy around the other dogs at first...well not anymore! Now she is the one rounding up the other dogs to have a good play session. She is also very friendly towards all the people at the dog park, I always get remarks on how well socialized she is. Just recently at the dog park we got to meet Willa's sister Abbey from the Sneaker/Cookie litter, and her brother Atlas from Star's litter the year before Willa's. (Who was the dad? I was wondering if it was Cookie as well?) It was great to meet the other two dogs...they enjoyed playing together, it was such a sight I wish I had my camera. I rarely see other collies at the park but when I saw these two (on separate occassions) I thought that they were the best looking collies I'd ever seen (besides Willa of course)! It was neat to find out that they were all from the same family. You guys have really done amazing work to produce such great dogs, they are a cut above the rest. Oh and Willa definately lives up to the Lassie reputation that people expect of collies...there are many examples but the most recent one was from yesterday at the dog park. There was a dad and his two young children there, and I happened to notice the little girl fall down. Willa went dashing over in their direction, at first I thought she was just running to great a dog near them but sure enough she went right up to the little girl to make sure she was okay. Willa circled around the little girl until she stood up and Willa could be sure she was alright. When she was satisfied that no one was hurt, Willa went on her merry way to continue playing. The best part was, literally every two minutes or so Willa would stop whatever she was doing and run over to the little girl to "check on her". It was funny to watch, the kids loved her and the dad found it a little unbelievable I think. I overhead him say "Here comes Lassie to see you again." I am very proud of my girl and know she will be a great big sister one day. I can't believe she is almost 1!
Take care and say hello to all the dogs for me.
